Artistic murals are a powerful form of public art that can carry a wide range of meanings, from the individual expression of the artist to the representation of cultural, social, or political themes relevant to the community in which they are located.
“Júrame is called Júrame because we have made a pact with the community to produce mezcal eternally […] we want to change history, not of the whole world, but of the community […] I feel like I'm walking on clouds” - José (Pepe) Lomelí
It is because of our pact with the community that, through art, we have dedicated a mural to Júrame in the restaurant "Inés fusión de sabores," where artists Johana Ponce and Emanuel Basilio shared their experiences of being in front of the mezcal distillery, which inspired them to create this mural. Day and night, landscapes, people, 3 pacts represented in drops, and the delicious smell of mezcal are the elements that identify this unique piece of art.
“We must be conscious of treating mezcal, the community, and the agave as eternal.”
